Big Grouper
Report Date: July 16, 2007
Fishing the reef this week seems to still be the best bet.The dolphin offshore are few and far between. With the weekend crowed we decided to try a few wrecks.

Dave Goreway's 51 pound Black grouper
|
All week long we've been catching mutton snappers in the 5-10 pound range. A few kingfish mixed in with lots of bonito. The gulfstream has been very close to shore and has lots of current which makes for great fishing conditions. We have also seen quite a few free jumping sailfish along the edge and caught a couple during the week. Running in front of them and tossing them a bait. The photo of the grouper was taken yesterday. The last spot of the day and the only bite we had there. A well deserved wait.
