Summer Time

Report Date: August 20, 2007

Excellent fishing over the past week. Earlier in the week we did venture offshore in search of dolphin. We spent a good couple hours hunting and tossing bait into some weed patches with no success. Running back toward the reef, we spotted a few birds. After a few minutes of chasing we caught 4 fish. Two were 12 pounders and the other two were small, but keeper schoolies. On that particular trip we came in closer to shore. We anchored on a wreck and caught several mutton snappers and two 15 pound kingfish before heading home. The rest of the week also went very well.

Big Atlantic sailfish

Catching a sailfish on all but one trip and limits of kingfish. The biggest being 30 pounds. There is still a tremendous amount of bonitos on the reef.

Brians 1st king

We've been catching them on 9 weight fly rods and casting artifical lures on spinning tackle. Late in the afternoons on two occasions we caught blackfin tunas in the 25 pound class. For summer time it is awesome. We just need to keep the hurricanes away. If you're interested call me anytime on my cell (305) 582 5445
