Tarpon action
Report Date: January 13, 2008
The offshore fishing still remains a bit on the slow side. Still not enough cold weather to keep the sailfish this far south. The last cold front on New Years sparked a little bit of action, but warmed up in two days. Sending the fish back up north. The last week or so we've stayed in shallow water to anchor and chum for kingfish and spanish mackeral. It has been very successful. Catching our limit of kingfish. Most being 10-15 pounds. The spanish mackeral have been big. Up to 8 pounds. Every now and then catching a kingfish in the 30's. We've also caught a few sails through out the week that were enticed by our chum.

The evening tarpon fishing has been excellent. There was a shrimp run that got them going and last night we caught 6 out of 8 up to 100 pounds. All on live shrimp fishing around the inlets. Don't miss the action!
