Big Mahi Mahi

Report Date: March 3, 2008

We usually look to spring time to start catching big dolphin. Over the past week or so some really big ones have shown up already. With winter not quite over yet. This could be a sign of some big things to come. This past week we have had some excellent sailfishing. The bonus have been the dolphin. Although there have not been alot of them. The few we have been catching have been quite large. The 44 pounder in the photo caught by Sean Depue ate a live herring while kite fishing in 110 feet of water.

It was not the most perfect conditions that day. Green water and no current, which is not the prettiest condition. The fact that we've been catching them is a good indication of whats to come. Aside from the sailfish and dolphin. We've had lots of action from the bonitos. The wrecks have had some big amberjacks and a few grouper and cobia starting to show up. The evening tarpon fishing over the past weekend was very good with fish up to 100 pounds eating live shrimp. Hope to see ya out there. Give me a call and let's go catch em !!
