Hot fishing in Miami
Report Date: March 16, 2008
Comming into march is usually somewhat unpredictable. It sort is the start of our spring season. It can also be very windy. Which usually means good fishing. We've been doing quite well catching sailfish over the last couple weeks. The blackfin tunas started to show up , but have been less than 10 pounds. Friday while we were chumming and livebait fishing we had some big ones chasing bait. We managed to catch this 23 pounder.

A really good sign of things to come. Tunas in Miami are in full force during April & May. We also had good spanish mackeral and kingfish action. The hot ticket that everyone is talking about now are the new butterfly jigs. When you look at one you wouldn't think it will work. We've dropped them on some deeper wrecks over the last couple days and caught about 15 amberjacks. Mostly smaller ones like the one in the photo.
