Summer Catches
Report Date: August 15, 2009
We've certainly have had some pretty good fishing over the last couple of months. Although the summer can be a bit of a struggle at times. The offshore dolphin (dorado) fishing has been sort of slow. If we run around enough and find something to fish to, weather it's a piece of floating debris or a weed line, we manage to catch a few fish. However it has not been up to par for the season. The fishing on the reef however has been excellent. We've been anchoring and fishing with live sardines. Catching limits of kingfish, countless bonitos and a sailfish from time to time. EXCELLENT ACTION !! On the bottom we've been catching mutton snappers in the 5-10 pound range and some grouper up to 25 pounds
