Blackfin tunas range in size from 20-35 pounds. Matched with 20 pound tackle this is a brutal battle.

Seeing a tuna attack a bait fished from a kite is explosive. They are all muscle and appear to make a huge hole in the water when they strike. There is no mistaking a tuna strike.

When the fight ensues be ready for a relatively long tough battle. They do travel in schools, so multiple hook ups are common. The table fare is excellent as well, so well worth the effort.
